789 STEP PROGRAM SUPERVISOR

West Texas Centers is seeking a highly motivated, licensed clinician to serve as the STEP Program Manager and First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Team Lead. This position provides moderately complex case management and clinical services to individuals ages 15-30 experiencing their first episode of psychosis. This role includes both direct clinical work and leadership responsibilities within the FEP team.

Position Overview

The STEP Program Manager/FEP Team Lead provides clinical leadership and oversees two case managers within the FEP program. The caseload consists of 20-30 individuals. The clinician will work closely with families, community partners, and interdisciplinary team members to support recovery through therapy, case management, skills training, and coordination of medical, educational, employment, and social services.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Case Management Duties

  • Provide clinical services to individuals experiencing first episode psychosis, including CBT and Individual Resiliency Training (IRT) when authorized.
  • Conduct assessments, screenings, eligibility determinations, and crisis evaluations.
  • Develop Recovery Plans within required timelines using shared decision-making.
  • Provide family education on mental illness and early intervention outcomes.
  • Maintain regular client contact per program guidelines (minimum 5 hours/month).
  • Complete documentation within 24 hours and in compliance with Medicaid guidelines.
  • Link clients to needed community resources and follow up on referrals.
  • Conduct intake interviews, complete RDM/RR/ANSA tools, and maintain EMR accuracy.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide clinical supervision to assigned QMHP/CSSP staff.
  • Lead weekly treatment team meetings and ensure collaborative communication.
  • Oversee outcome measures, monitor behavioral trends, and report findings to the team.
  • Model professionalism, ethics, and effective communication.
  • Participate in clinical consult rotation for 24-hour crisis support and guidance.

Program Coordination

  • Build and maintain relationships with community agencies and referral sources.
  • Provide community outreach and consultation regarding early onset psychosis.
  • Support program development, team building, and adherence to program guidelines.
  • Complete required staff development, MAC time studies, and training requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be licensed by the State of Texas as LPC, LPC-A LCSW, LMFT, LMSW-ACP, or Licensed Psychologist.
  • Minimum 1 year of mental health experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of case management experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet client and family needs.
