West Texas Centers is searching for highly motivated individual that is an experienced parent of a child or children with serious emotional disturbance who provides peer mentoring and support to the parents or primary caregiver of children in services at WTCMHMR who are receiving a specific service. Starting Pay:$13.34
Job Functions include assisting individuals in gaining needed services:
Will provide mentoring to parents of youth teens and young adults enrolled in the STEP program/ MH West Region with WTCMHMR
Will facilitate parent support groups.
engaging clients in activities designed to reduce the symptoms of mental illness and to increase the ability of the individual to function in the community.
Will act as an advocate for the parent with WTCMHMR as needed as well as encourage parent to develop his or her own advocacy skills.
Requires flexible hours, involves extensive paperwork, and will require self-directed performance. Travel and the use of a personal vehicle is required.
Position Requirements:
The Family Partner must be a parent or legal guardian with a minimum of one year of lived experience being responsible for making the final decisions for a family member ages 15 to 30 (STEP criteria) who has been diagnosed with a mental, emotional or behavioral disorder.
Must have and maintain a Valid Drivers License and driving record that is acceptable for insurability through our insurance carrier.
Must pass background check and drug screening.
Applicants must reside within 70 mile radius of duty site
