The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assisting families in gaining access to needed
services and supports as outlined in the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). This person is
the occupational therapy contact for each family assigned and must be able to facilitate development
and rehabilitation of children 0-3 with developmental delays and disabilities by planning and
administering medically prescribed occupational therapy in an accurate and timely manner. Must
have considerable knowledge in services to address the functional needs of a child related to
adaptive development, adaptive behavior and play, and sensory, motor, and postural development.
These services are designed to improve the child's functional ability to perform tasks in the home
and community settings. These duties include the following activities: tracking of deadlines,
coordination of and participation in initial and ongoing developmental assessments, program
planning on and communicating with an interdisciplinary team regarding progress and changes as
needed with child, and direct services in the child's natural environment requiring occupational
services. Must be effective at engaging and training parents on treatments and strategies needs to
assist in their child's progression and development. Organizational skills are required in order to plan
and prioritize work effectively. Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative relations with
colleagues and parents. Must be proficient with computers and programs such as Excel, Word,
Google Drive, and Promedda in order to prepare and maintain documentation, tracking deadlines
and chart records of the children and family's needs. Documentation should meet Medicaid and state
requirements. Review medical records and document findings. Be able to work individually or with a
team as needed to provide quality services. Will attend one training a year to continue expanding
knowledge and treatment plans for specialties. Will attend all staff meetings as scheduled. Will
maintain yearly CEUs to maintain their licensures. Responsible for assisting in training new staff as
needed. Employee is required to use their personal vehicle and/or an agency/rental vehicle for any
travel. All employees are required to have a personal vehicle available for work purposes and
maintain current, valid vehicle liability on the personal vehicle. Personal vehicle usage is subject to
Center authorized mileage reimbursement rates.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND PURPOSES:
Provides Testing and Screening
o Use of testing/screening materials adheres to protocols established for specific
instrument used. Any deviations from established testing procedures are properly
documented.
o Able to explain purpose of test being used in lay terms.
o Parent/caregiver participation and input considered and used in all aspects of
testing/screening.
o Obtains written consent before all evaluation and re-evaluations and explains
procedural safeguards to family.
Planned and Delivered services delivered according to expectations
o Provides planned therapy services recommendation based on child's needs and
medical necessity.
o Delivers services as listed on the child's IFSP.
o Delivers at least 75% of planned services each month
o Documents all Attempts, No Shows and Family Cancels promptly.
Provides timely services.
o All new families on caseload are contacted within 48 hours of receiving initial email
from enrollment.
o All new services added to the IFSP are delivered within 28 days of the start date of
the service.
o Communicates in a timely manner with the EIS/SC regarding client
recommendations.
o Documents all Attempts, No Shows and Family Cancels promptly.
? Billable hours delivered according to expectations.
o 50% of providers work day will be billable services.
o Weekly billable hours turned in timely.
Provides discipline specific therapy and evaluations.
o Knowledgeable of child development from birth to 36 months old.
o Child's developmental growth is continually assessed and documented.
o Goals, strategies and activities are revised as needed.
o Documentation meets the following requirements by: Medicaid, HHS ECI and
coaching model.
o Discipline specific services are provided using the coaching model
o Services are medically necessary, reasonable and skilled.
o Observation of services shows compliance with coaching model.
Creates and maintains appropriate goals for ECI client.
o IFSP goals includes strategies and activities that can be incorporated into the child
and family's daily routines
o IFSP goals must be measurable and follow the SMART guidelines.
o IFSP Goals should be developmentally appropriate and individualized per child
o IFSP Goals should be medically necessary.
o Creates goals in child's chart to ensure child has all documented needs addressed.
Completes quality ECI Documentation
o Must maintain organizational skills in order to plan and prioritize work effectively.
o Must be proficient with computers and programs such as Excel, Word, Google Drive,
and ProMedDa in order to prepare and maintain documentation, tracking deadlines
and chart records of the children and families needs.
o Documentation should meet Medicaid and HHS ECI TAC requirements.
o All medical records should be reviewed for each child on the caseload and the
findings must be documented.
o Documentation will be legible, accurate, and completed in accordance with WTC
policies and procedures.
o f.All documentation will be in no later than 24 hours of shift or scheduled work period.
o Progress notes should adequately support the services provided.
o Weekly Report must be updated and corrected on at least a weekly basis.
o Documentation reflects that the child and parent's rights are protected at all times.
o Documentation was completed collaboratively with parent/caregiver.
Maintains quality caregiver interactions
o Facilitates interactions between caregivers and child using the Coaching model,
while incorporating strategies and activities to reach desired IFSP goals and
outcomes. Strategies and activities are created based on parent/guardian priorities
and child's developmental needs. Strategies and activities should be incorporated
into the child and family's daily routines and in the natural environment.
Promotes Community Awareness
o Participates in community events to promote ECI, as assigned by Program Director.
Distributes ECI awareness materials to community agencies.
o As a representative of ECI, they maintain professional behavior in the community.
Provides Telehealth services
o Maintain professional demeanor and background during all telehealth sessions.
o Comply with all therapy licensing related to provision of telehealth
o Comply with all West Texas Centers, HHS ECI and Medicaid rules and regulations
related to telehealth
o Utilize the coaching model during all telehealth sessions and document using
coaching formatting.
o Obtains or verifies an updated, signed Consent for Telehealth is in each child's chart
before providing telehealth services
o Verifies child is located in Texas during telehealth session.

Safety concerns are reported to supervisor immediately upon discovery and/or corrected.
Identifies and reports any unsafe factors in the environment.

Utilizes universal precautions when handling all blood and body fluids.

Universal precautions are utilized in accordance to WTC policy and procedures.
Team Members must have and maintain a driving record that is acceptable for insurability through
the Center's insurance carrier. Staff must maintain a safe, inspected and road-worthy vehicle and
have a valid Texas Driver's License. Staff must notify supervisor immediately of any driving
violations or citations received from law enforcement with no evidence of failure to report. Must meet
the criteria that indicate a commitment to safe and responsible driving as defined by the Texas Risk
Management Fund.
