West Texas Centers is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Peer Trainer to join our Mental Health Division. The Peer Trainer is responsible for providing ongoing training and support to Mental Health staff, with a primary focus on Peer Specialists and other provider staff. This position helps ensure staff are properly trained in service delivery, documentation, psychosocial rehabilitation, community living support, and the use of electronic medical records. The Peer Trainer will also serve as a resource and advocate for Peer Provider staff and will help identify training needs, procedural concerns, and opportunities for improvement throughout the Mental Health Division.

Salary: $16.25 per hour

Essential Responsibilities

·Provide ongoing training to Mental Health Division staff, including Peer Specialists and other provider staff.

·Provide initial training to new Peer Specialists and provider staff.

·Evaluate new employees regarding service delivery, documentation, client interactions, and staff interactions.

·Provide or coordinate follow-up training when performance or training needs are identified.

·Coordinate ongoing training for Peer staff to ensure service requirements and performance standards are met.

·Provide one-on-one training and follow-up support as needed.

·Schedule and document training sessions and maintain accurate training records.

·Complete required training assessments and documentation within established timeframes.

·Provide training on:

·Psychosocial rehabilitation skills training

·Community living support and skills training

·Service documentation requirements

·Electronic medical record procedures

·Mental illness awareness

·Serve as a resource to Mental Health program staff by providing training, guidance, and support.

·Advocate for Peer Provider staff and communicate identified procedural or policy concerns to appropriate leadership.

·Help identify training needs and develop training opportunities to address those needs.

·Participate in community service training programs and professional development opportunities.

·Maintain required credentials, including MHPS/RSPS, as applicable.

·Maintain required certifications and attend mandatory training such as First Aid, CPR, PMAB, and other required trainings.

·Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel & Schedule

This position requires extensive travel to all 15 West Texas Centers clinic sites. A personal vehicle is required.

The position requires flexible hours, frequent interaction with program staff, extensive documentation, and the ability to work independently.

Employees must have a valid Texas driver's license and a driving record that meets West Texas Centers' insurance requirements.
